Contributing to open source has become very popular among adult programmers who are already employed and experienced in the field, but many teens and younger people haven’t even heard of the term. I myself first heard about open source 3 years ago, and quickly found myself becoming an active maintainer and contributor to many projects, as well as a much better software developer. In this session I’ll talk about my own journey through programming and open source, and how more people like me can start contributing themselves.
